You may use up to five days of leave if you are absent due to the death or critical illness where death appears imminent, of your father, father-in-law, mother, mother-in-law, brother, sister, spouse, child, grandparent, grandchild, or step-relationships or registered domestic partner relationships of the same categories. The County has a right to require proper documentation in support of the requested leave. All or part of the leave may be taken from your accrued sick leave or annual leave balances; check your Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for additional information pertaining to your bargaining unit.
