New Employee Handbook
  New Employee Handbook
Employment Information & Personnel Policies
Through this manual employees are given an opportunity to gain insight about County services and County employment. Included in Appendix A are the County of Riverside’s Code of Ethics. The standards in this code reflect the Board of Supervisors’ expectations that all employees will conduct themselves professionally, honestly, and with utmost integrity, in a manner that reflects positively upon their department and the County as a whole.

In addition to the Code of Ethics, all employees are expected to adhere to department and County policies. Several key County policies are outlined in the Personnel Policies section of this handbook. The full text of these policies is included in the appendices.

Your department may provide you with a number of department policies that you are expected to understand and follow in addition to the key County policies outlined herein. If you have questions about any policies or procedures, it is your responsibility to clarify them as soon as possible with your supervisor or manager. Employees are expected to understand and comply with all County and departmental policies.

Other terms and conditions of employment are outlined in various negotiated Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with employee unions, as well as in the Resolution for Exempt Management, Management, Confidential, and Other Unrepresented Employees. These documents are readily available, both on Workforce Exchange (www.workforceexchange.net) and on the County Human Resources Department’s web site (www.rc-hr.com).

As part of your new employee orientation, you will be asked to sign a form stating that you understand the policies and employee responsibilities discussed in this handbook. If you have any questions in this regard, please address them with your supervisor or with Human Resources at (951) 955-3500.
