Economic Development Agency

The mission of the Economic Development Agency (EDA) is to enhance the economic position of the County and its residents while maintaining the environment and quality of life. They do this by encouraging business growth and building a positive business climate, developing a trained workforce, improving existing communities, offering a variety of housing opportunities, and providing cultural and entertainment activities. Programs operated by EDA include Workforce Development, Redevelopment, Community Development, County Services, County Airports, and the Edward-Dean Museum and Gardens.

Each year, the agency also hosts the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival, which draws more than 300,000 festival-goers to the Coachella Valley. EDA’s Marketing and Economic Division assists the business community, promotes new businesses, provides fast-track permit processing, promotes tourism, and coordinates special events throughout the County. EDA’s housing programs include the Housing Authority of Riverside County, home improvement, new construction, and home ownership programs.
