Welcome to the e-version of the Handbook

On these pages, you will have the ability to browse the various sections of the handbook by using the hyperlinks, or, you can download the entire handbook via the PDF located on the right side of this page. Included in Appendix A are the County of Riverside’s Code of Ethics. The standards in this code reflect the Board of Supervisors’ expectations that all employees will conduct themselves professionally, honestly, and with utmost integrity, in a manner that reflects positively upon their department and the County as a whole.

In addition to the Code of Ethics, all employees are expected to adhere to department and Board policies.  Several key Board policies are outlined in the Personnel Policies section of this handbook. The full text of these policies is included in the appendices and on the County Intranet site.

Your department may provide you with a number of department policies that you are expected to understand and follow in addition to the key Board policies outlined herein.  If you have questions about any policies or procedures, it is your responsibility to clarify them as soon as possible with your supervisor or manager. Employees are expected to understand and comply with all Board and departmental policies.

Other terms and conditions of employment are outlined in various negotiated Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with employee unions, in the Ordinance 440 or in the Resolution for Exempt Management, Management, Confidential, and Other Unrepresented Employees.  These documents are available on Workforce Exchange HR Toolbox (www.workforceexchange.net) and on the Human Resources Department’s web site (www.rc-hr.com).
