The following documents are intended to provide information for county contract administrators as well as standard insurance and indemnification wording to be used in county contracts.
Contract Administrator’s Insurance Guidelines
This document is intended to educate and provide a reference for county contract administrators. If you still have a question after reviewing this document please call the Risk Management Division for assistance.
County
Standard Insurance Language
The attached standard insurance language should be included as part of each contract between the County of Riverside and outside vendors or contractors. In some cases we will need to change the insurance wording for a specific contract. Please contact Risk Management if the contract you are working on seems to have a higher than normal or an unusual exposure to loss. Examples of contracts that would require special coverages or different limits would include: contracts where the contractor will transport county employees, members of the public or minor children; a contract where the contractor will receive county funds, a contract where aircraft will be used and so forth.
County
Standard Indemnification and Hold Harmless Language
Our standard indemnification and hold harmless language should be included in every contract between the County of Riverside and outside vendors or contractors. Due to requirements of State statute we now have a separate indemnification language for Architects and Engineers. These are the Architects and Engineers Indemnification and Hold Harmless Language and the All Other Contracts Indemnification and Hold Harmless Language documents.
