  Voluntary Furlough Program

On December 23, 2008 the Voluntary Furlough Program (Policy C-31) was updated.  The updated program is designed to reduce the overall wage obligations of the County while protecting employees' benefit plans, seniority and positions with the County.  In light of the projected budget challenges over the next three years it is prudent to have available furlough options to assist the County with budgetary concerns and restraints.  Employees who take advantage of the Voluntary Furlough Programs will be given credit for that time should the County move to a Mandatory Furlough Program.

For more information about this program, how to enroll or what this will mean to you please review the Payroll Insert with Q&A's, PowerPoint Presentation, or Policy C-31 Form-11.

Join the County of Riverside Start! Walking Challenge

Each year, more than 1 million Americans suffer a heart attack and 700,000 have a stroke. A leading risk factor for heart attack and embolic stroke is lack of physical activity. About 70 percent of Americans are not getting enough exercise, blaming lack of time and lack of motivation. Ignoring fitness and health increases our chances for disease.

The County of Riverside is proud to partner with the American Heart Association’s Start! Campaign, a physical activity program to fight heart disease and stroke by getting people moving through workplace walking programs. Participating in this program can significantly improve our health.  For more information about this campaign please view the flyer or visit the Wellness Start! Walking page
